Heaters to Host USSSA Points Event

Ever since the Heaters were created back in 2012, it has been a goal of ours to host a major tournament in Wise.  The Heaters were able to host an 8U event last season in which 7 teams from Southwest Virginia and Northeast Tennessee came to Veldon Dotson Park for a 2-day tournament at Veldon Dotson Park.  Many newcomers to the area raved about the facility and stated a desire to return again someday.

Well that someday is now.  The Heaters have worked it out with Tennessee's USSSA directors to host a USSSA points event at Veldon Dotson Park the weekend of May 23-25.  This event will be a sanctioned, USSSA points event and include teams from 7U up through 12U.  This will be the first event of its kind hosted in Wise and at Veldon Dotson Park.  The event will be called The Mountain Top Classic (same name used for last year's 7-team 8U event).

Registration fees for the event will be: 7/8U=$25; 9U-12U=$100.  With no local Tennessee events that weekend, it is a perfect opportunity for teams to travel to Wise for an event and still be awarded USSSA points.  We already have commitments from 8U, 9U, 10U, and 12U teams.

So please, come and join us in Wise for a great tournament!
