While today's 18-14 loss to the Mountain Expos (Hendersonville, NC) was disappointing, the players and parents of the Heaters Baseball Club should be very proud of the progress the club has made. We won our first two pool play games for the first time in a tournament and was one win away from advancing to the Championship game in the Battle of Holston River.
The Heaters scored the most runs (58) than any other team in the tournament and our 8.6 run margin of victory per game was the largest of the tournament. We still have things to work on, but the Heaters have come a long way since that first tournament in Knoxville, TN.
Hopefully with this weekend's improved showing, the Heaters are on the cusp of competing for and winning some tournaments in the near future.
