Heaters Win Double-Header. Now at .500.

The Heaters Baseball Club defeated the McClure Sharks (Castlewood, VA) in both games of today's doubleheader.  The final score of Game 1 was 13-0 with the score of Game 2 being 15-1.

Game 1 was the Heaters first kid pitch game of the season.  A trio of Heaters pitchers combined to allow 1 hit and walk 1 while striking out 9.  The Heaters batters showed that their league work facing kid pitching has paid off as the club scored 3 runs in the first inning and tacked on 5 runs each in the 2nd and 3rd innings.  The game was stopped after 3 innings.  The maximum runs allowed in each inning was 5.

Game 2 was all Heaters in coach pitch action.  The run limit stayed at 5 and the Heaters scored the maximum of 5 in all 3 of their at-bats.  The club also made the plays in the field to secure the win.

With the wins, the Heaters improve to 11-11 overall on the season.  After starting the season 1-9, the Heaters have rallied to go 10-2 over their last 12 games and are an even .500 on the season.  With the wins today over another Virginia team, the club improved to 7-0 overall against in-state teams.

The club will look to ride this momentum into this weekend's tournament in Kingsport, Tennessee.
