After nearly 2 weeks without a game to play, the Heaters Baseball Club met up with the Xtreme 11U squad (Wise, VA) for a short contest Thursday evening. Scoring was rampant on both sides as both teams took advantage of the contest to work out some new pitchers.
The top of the first inning dictated the game as the Xtreme scored early and often against Heaters pitching. Defensive lapses and solid hitting by the Xtreme squad set the tone for the Heaters defeat.
The Heaters, playing at an age disadvantage, took home plenty of positives by scoring double digits in runs as every batter reached base versus Xtreme pitching.
The Heaters hope to schedule some games next week and find another tournament to play in this fall. Next Saturday, the Heaters will play the TN Select. Time and location is still to be determined.
